Privacy policy

In short: your files never leave your device. PlayWithFiles works inside your web browser. When you merge a PDF, compress a photo or make an exam photo, the work is done by your own phone or computer. We never receive, see or store your files.

PlayWithFiles is operated by KRD Technologies, India.

Your files

• Files you choose are read by your browser and processed there. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
• Results (the new PDF or picture) are created on your device and saved only when you press Download.
• When you close or reload the page, the files are gone from the page. We keep no copy, because we never had one.

What is kept on your device

• "Continue with" another tool: the result is kept in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB) so the next tool can open it. It is deleted as soon as the next tool picks it up, and ignored after 10 minutes.
• Text reading (OCR): the language files for reading scanned text are downloaded from our site the first time and stored by your browser, so they need not download again. They contain no personal data.
• You can clear all of this at any time in your browser settings ("clear site data").

If you report something

The Report abuse page only builds an email. Your own email app opens and you press Send, so we receive exactly what you chose to send (and your email address, as with any email). The page itself keeps nothing.

What we collect

• No accounts, no sign-up, no names, no email addresses.
• No cookies for tracking or advertising. No analytics. No advertising.
• If we later add privacy-friendly visitor counts (for example Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies) or advertising, we will update this page first and say what changes.

Hosting

The website is delivered by Cloudflare. Like every website host, Cloudflare's servers handle technical details of each visit — such as your IP address, browser type and the page asked for — to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. These details are about the visit, not your files. Our legal basis for this handling of IP addresses is legitimate interest: delivering and securing the pages. More: Cloudflare's privacy policy

Links to other sites

Exam and form pages link to official notifications on government and exam websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

Our tools are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including people under 18. Because we collect no personal data from using the tools, no information about children is gathered.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and similar laws elsewhere, you may ask what personal data we hold about you. We hold none from using the tools. If you write to us, we use your message only to reply, and delete it when it is no longer needed.

Grievances and your rights

Questions, complaints and requests about your data go to our Grievance Team. We will reply within 30 days. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and may complain to the Data Protection Board of India. If you are in the European Union, you may also ask for access and erasure, and complain to your own data protection authority.
